Keith, Is That You?

Believe this or not. This is one of the icons on the PNM’s Facebook page. And, it’s not a Diego Martin West poster.

It caught my attention, particularly since for the last couple of weeks, I have heard the PNM Political Leader repeating ad nauseum that:

• ·         This election is NOT a fight between 2 people
• ·         The PNM is about the Team
• ·         This is NO Kamla-Rowley fight

and many such utterances denouncing the UNC’s campaign strategy of presenting the General Elections as being about nothing more than Who is to lead the country.

The PNM and its Leader have pooh-poohed the UNC’s KAMLA 2015 AND NO ROWLEY Campaigns.

Last night, I was again accosted with Keith talking at a re-run of a PNM Conversation (Oh boy deja’ vu – Didn’t the COP initiate the “Conversations With the People” since 2006) in San Fernando.

There was “ROWLEY” of the “Vote Right. Vote Rowley” slogan talking about team, team, team and about others (Kamla) who talking like I-men about Leaders.

So, it is very interesting that ROWLEY who is condemning KAMLA is now pushing his own brand of I-man politics. Talk bout speaking out of both sides of your mouth!

The really important thing is that both KEITH and KAMLA campaigns are covers for the Constitutional Prime Ministerial dictatorship which is at the heart of our governance system.

Our version of Westminster, makes the PM the Maximum Leader – Tuti Capo de Tuti Capi (de Big Boss) as Manning referred to himself as PM. 

A Head of Government more powerful than our Head of State! Isn’t that why the PNM built a huge “Diplomatic Centre” for the PM while the President’s House was left with a gaping hole in the roof and uninhabitable?

When we vote, the poor voters are confused. We are supposed to be choosing a Representative in Parliament, but, our Electoral and Constitutional system tells us we are really voting for Ministers who will never be our real Representatives.

And, the top honcho, the Political Leader of the victorious party or coalition (commands the support of the majority in Parliament as the Constitution says) becomes the Tuti Capo.

So, Maximum Leader in Government is prepared as Maximum Leader in the role of Political Leader of our Political Parties in this Party Political system which the PNM foisted on us since 1956 continuing the old Colonial Maximum Leader style of “democracy” on our society.

And for good measure, the US-style political campaigning substitutes that is being foisted on us substitutes ‘KAMLA vs KEITH’ for the Presidential Race of that country’s governance and electoral systems.

Without forging a new Electoral and Governance arrangement, the presentation of our Parliamentary Elections 2015 as a contest between ‘KAMLA’ and ‘ROWLEY’ was inevitable.

So, where is the People Power that they say we, the people, the majority have under this system.

KEITH with all the Policy Statements, Plans and Vision 20/30 cockeyed talk does NOT address 

really changing this paradigm.

The real concern is to continue the Rule of the PNM which they claim is anointed and appointed just like the Monarchs of Jolly Ole England were portrayed.

So as the great Keith’s PNM is asking on their FB page:
